The 4 C's explained
Carat (abbreviation C) gold is a unit that denotes the mass content of precious metals gold in alloys. All of our jewelry is manufactured in 18K gold. 18 Carat gold means that 750 of the 1000 particles are made up of pure gold and 250 of the 1000 particles are added metals. The addition of other metals gives the gold the properties to be strong enough to manufacture into a piece of jewelry. Pure gold is not strong enough to use in jewelry.
The carat (abbreviation C) in diamonds is how one expresses the weight and size of the diamond and where 1 carat is equal to 0.2 grams. The higher the carat of the diamond, the larger the diamond actually is. The prices of a diamond increase exponentially with the carat. The higher the carat, the more expensive the diamond.
